About the company:
Fort Friend is an evolving, eco-friendly fort building toy company, started in the lakes and mountain valley of New Hampshire. Each toy is constructed with durable, natural fibers, filled with repurposed materials and made with lots of love!
When I was a child I always loved to build forts. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. My sister and I would come up with all types of ways to construct them. We used blankets and sheets and placed them across the couch, chairs, coffee table and whatever else we could find. We always had a hard time getting the forts to stay up though. We would stack books, toys and many other items on top of the blankets and sheets to make the fort stay up. Most of the time the books and other objects would end up falling which probably wasn't the safest things to use.
Now I have a daughter of my own and she too loves to build forts. I still had the problem of finding ways to make the fort stay up. I usually just took a few chairs and placed a sheet on top then I would have to get inside with my daughter to help keep the fort up. I did not want to risk placing something heavy on top and it falling on her.
Recently I was browsing the internet and came across a product called, Fort Friend. I watched the video on their website and I knew that it was the perfect product for us. Everyone that has a child who loves to build forts should own a set of these. We received a starter set in the floral pattern to review. They are very simple to use and are somewhat like a pillow filled with a heavy material to weigh it down but is still safe if it was to fall. We had no trouble with them falling though. I think the Fort Friends work great, I wish I would have came up with the idea of this product myself. To use the them just place a sheet or blanket on top of a chair, couch, table, etc then place the Fort Friend on top to hold it up then let your imagination run wild.
We have been building forts everyday since we have received the Fort Friends. If you would like to purchase your own Fort Friend set go to www.fortfriend.com. They would make the perfect Birthday or Christmas gift. Or get them just because. They have 5 designs to choose from.
