Potty Training

I am so happy to say that it is going on 2 months since my daughter has been potty trained.  The key to potty training is be persistent.  You have to keep asking your child if they need to go and make them try even if they say they don't have to.  When children start playing they tend to forget that they need to go. Another thing to remember is to have patience, know that there will be accidents.

Try rewarding your child with a treat after the go potty or give them lots of praise, (We did both).  Every child is different so do what works best for you and your little one.  When we first started potty training we used training pants.  It worked for a little while then my daughter realized that she could go to the potty in those just as she could a diaper.

Finally I decided to go ahead and buy her some big girl panties and just hope for the best.  I was so surprised just how well she did.  I think I was just scared to switch to regular panties because I was afraid she would have an accident while we were out.  She did have a couple of accidents at first but now she is fully potty trained.

I am so proud of her.  It is also great to cut out the expense of buying diapers.  If you are in the process of potty training or are getting ready to start just remember to be persistent, have patience and don't give up.
